DDD Now Insisting on Medicaid Eligibility for All Clients

The New Jersey Division of Developmental Disabilities (DDD) is now insisting that all of their clients establish eligibility for Medicaid and maintain that eligibility to receive DDD services.  This is a departure from previous policy whereby the Division provided many services to ineligible clients and either charged them for those services or maintained a lien on their estate.  DDD clients may need to seek legal assistance to obtain this eligibility–if the client has assets in excess of $2000, a special needs trust or pooled trust account may be needed to be set up for those assets.  Contact us for a consultation so that we can assist you with this process.
